Ready to get back on the trail

Well, we’ve cleaned up, eatin steak, slept in real beds, had some breakfast and are now about to get back to the trail. This  adventure has been very physically challenging and requires emotional  tenacity to say the least, yet also it can be very spiritually exhilarating at a moment’s notice.

For every thousand foot climb there are beautiful flowers (Spring is springing!), incredible vistas, awesome bird, and of course bear poop. Lol!

The good news is that we have not yet seen a bear and no bears have taken our food. 🙂 The other day we saw a male and a female Warbler. Stunning! Amazing song!

So each day is a new learning experience!  Most of the other hikers have already hobbled back out to the trail this morning.  Time to be counted among them.  DF

About dragonfly2013at

Years ago i was walking in nature and a dragonfly landed on my hand. My hiking companion commented,"Change is coming in your life." Indeed, it was! I worked in business where pumps were the fashion. I left it for work where orange shoes are appreciated. This suits me. I love what I do. I just need a break to refresh and so I am! I am the 4th of 11 children. Years ago orange shoes assured that I would not be left behind (we moved a lot)...or suffer face first in a snow drift for too long. I will wear orange laces on the hike. Orange is not in hiking boot fashion at this time. Blessings on the journey. Dragonfly

Continuing good wishes to you and Prairie Dog. You are amazing and courageous to have undertaken this awesome adventure. Dealing with weather, which is always unpredictable, and all that is required of you on a daily basis to keep your physical beings in good shape – having moments of spiritual beauty and understanding are the real gifts… I look forward to the updates in my email! So glad you weathered the storms indoors! A good night’s sleep in a real bed will do wonders for your physical stamina, to say nothing of a hot meal you didn’t have to prepare over the campfire.
Wishing you the best while keeping the home fires burning. Happy Trails to you both!
