Frustations from the trail

When I decided to go on the trail, I decided NOT to have a cell phone.  I figured that the reception wouldn’t be there when I needed it.  I didn’t have a smart phone and wasn’t text-ing so didn’t see the need nor did I want to pay a bill every month.  So my solution was to get a 7-inch tablet with wi-fi.  This worked great at work, at home, at Starbucks, but hasn’t worked so well on the trail.  There is no wi-fi on the trail and when we’ve picked up mail-drops in towns or at hostels, several of these places didn’t have wi-fi or even phone service.  So I’ve been frustrated in not being able to post as much as I would have liked to.  Maybe it will get better.

Wouldn’t mind being off the grid for my cell….one thing if you choose, another if it’s forced on you. Hope future towns have better wifi
