Growing up on the windy plaines of South Dakota, it was an adjustment to experience wind blowing through the canyons of the big city.

Now since we’ve been hiking through NJ, NY and now CT, we have been experiencing a more natural wind.  We hear it through the trees and see it blowing the leaves.  It has been a cool wind so it makes for a more comfortable hike especially when you sweat so much on the ups.  There is even a touch of Fall to the wind, although it seems to soon to have that happen.

Wind, a nice reminder of home.

I think fall is coming early to the hills also. no 90 degree days in August. Cool with rain, even had a small tornado in Hill City of all places.

Can’t believe you are already in CT! Amazing. So glad the bears decided to dance. Sorry about the falls. A touch of autumn here today. It was great. Safe travels.
