Dragonfly and I are NOBO hikers, short hand for northbound.  SOBO hikers are southbound, meaning that they started their hike on Mt. Katahdin, hike south, and will finish on Springer Mt. in Georgia.

We began meeting southbound hikers as we were leaving NY and entering CT.  It has taken them two months or more to get to this part in the hike when we had roughly two months left to finish ours.  We have met one (or more) nearly everyday for the last month.  It has been fun to stop and talk with them.  They give advice to us of things to look out for in the weeks ahead, as they have already hiked where we are headed.  They have also giving tips on places to stay and places to eat.  We in turn have offered the same advice to them.
